We woke up to a New Year to learn of the passing of one of music’s darlings, Natalie Cole, daughter of music legend Nat King Cole. She has had a number of health issues over the years and recently had to cancel a number of appearances. Natalie passed on Thursday night according to her publicist from what is believed to be Congestive Heart Failure.
The winner of 9 Grammy Awards Natalie was an absolute star in music. With chart topping hits like, “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” and “Unforgettable,” she made an indelible mark in music and history.
“Natalie Cole, sister beloved & of substance and sound. May her soul rest in peace,” tweeted the Rev. Jesse Jackson on New Year’s Day. Natalie had a very special career which spanned from music to television. She was also active in the Afghan World Foundation cause. Our condolences to the her family and loved ones. She will be missed.
