Andre Hepkins anchors NEWS 4 THIS MORNING weekdays alongside Emily Rau. This year Hepkins received an Emmy nomination for news writing. Hepkins joined KMOV in May, 2011; and he was promoted to his current role in February of 2012. Prior to his arrival in St. Louis, Hepkins was a reporter and backup anchor at WSVN in Miami.
Hepkins also worked as a lead reporter at WNYW, in New York City, his hometown; as well as WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut. The Connecticut chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists honored Andre with a Best Spot News award for his coverage of the deadly Anthrax scare that hit Connecticut in the days after 9/11.
Andre’s very first job in television was as a CBS Page in New York City: answering telephones at 60 Minutes, delivering scripts at CBS Evening News, and seating guests at Late Show with David Letterman. Andre, a native New Yorker, graduated from Hofstra University and Brooklyn Technical High School.
