CAM St. Louis Opens New Season with Powerful Exhibitions

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (CAM) launches its fall season with dynamic new exhibitions that spotlight international voices, Indigenous narratives, and community-driven artmaking.

Haegue Yang: Quasi-Heartland

Internationally acclaimed artist Haegue Yang (b. 1971, Seoul, South Korea) transforms everyday objects into immersive, multisensory installations. Her CAM-commissioned work Mound Vehicles will debut as part of the exhibition and be activated through choreographed performances on opening weekend and First Fridays through February.

Teresa Baker: Somewhere Between Earth and Sky

Los Angeles-based artist Teresa Baker (Mandan/Hidatsa) presents her largest solo exhibition to date. Using artificial turf, buffalo hide, sinew, and fiber, Baker’s works evoke the vastness of prairies while honoring her Indigenous heritage. She will host an Artist Talk on Saturday, September 6, from 11 AM–12 PM.

Hai-Wen Lin: Orientation (Street Views Series)

Lin’s new video projection will illuminate CAM’s facade daily from dusk to midnight. Blending the game Twister with feng shui, the playful yet poetic work explores cross-cultural communication. Lin will also lead an Artist Talk on Thursday, October 23, from 6–7 PM.

Community Exhibitions

CAM continues its commitment to inclusivity with Access is an Invitation, a participatory showcase highlighting works by North St. Louis residents, older adults, and people with disabilities. The museum also celebrates three decades of youth creativity with We Find Ourselves: 30 Years of Teens Making Art, featuring works from its New Art in the Neighborhood (NAN) and ArtReach programs.
